LGBT Stop Smoking Support
MSH@Queens Park will be developing specifically resources and on-line support, information and advice to support members of the Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay and Trans community who want to quit smoking.
This will take the form of blogs with tips and advice to help you quit, as well as the development of a specific resource that will aim to increase awareness of the health risks of smoking and encourage members of the the LGBT community to consider quitting.
We will be seeking volunteers to assist with the development of this resource, from concept and idea creation, through to design of the resource medium and then dissemination within the LBGT community. Please click the 'Get Involved' button below if you would like to volunteer with this initiative.
Knit & Quit!
We run a monthly support group called Knit & Quit, but haven't had a meet up in a few months, however, having received the good news that the group is funded for another financial year (yeah), it's time to knit and quit! We are also changing venue, as the lovely boys at the New Bloomsbury Set (NBS) on 76 Marchmont Street, WC1N 1AG will be welcoming us to what we hope will become our regular venue.
Dates for the group are:
Wed 19th October 2016 19:00 - 21:00 @ NBS
It will be a mixed group of current smokers (wanting to quit) and non-smokers (who will act as 'buddies' to support the smokers on their journey to quit). During the monthly group, which will be led by Nuria, all participants will learn the basic art of knitting, and as a group we will work on creating squares that can come together to form a blanket we can donate to more vulnerable members of the community.
